Kathleen "Kitty" Porch

We are heartbroken at the loss of our beloved Kitty who passed way, held in the loving arms of her husband Rob and sister Judee on 2/16/2026 at the age of 71.

 

Kathleen “Kitty” (Bourassa) Porch was born November 17, 1954 in Missoula, Montana to Marius “Frenchie” and Ruby (Hansen) Bourassa. Kitty graduated from Sentinel High School in 1973 and attended the University of Montana for several years.

 

Kitty met and married Patrick Cole in December of 1973. This union resulted in a daughter, Kelly, born in 1981 and a son Neil, born in 1985. Kitty and Pat later divorced in December of 1993.

 

Kitty eventually met Rob Porch in September of 1995 and they married in May of 2000. They were married until just short of their 26th anniversary but were together for 30 years.

 

Kitty lived most of her life in Missoula. She worked for over 35 years as a bookkeeper and office manager.

 

Family was everything to Kitty. She loved family gatherings and cherished time spent together. Kitty loved her two children dearly and was very supportive of each of them and always was their biggest fan.

 

Kitty had a deep love for animals, great and small, especially her horses, her pedigreed, Netherland Dwarf rabbits and her three Shih Tzu dogs, Dixie, Rosie and Gracie. She found great joy and solace in their companionship throughout her life.

 

Kitty loved reading, being outdoors, yardwork and going for walks. She enjoyed riding behind Rob on 4-wheeler rides in the countryside and mountains. She also loved her many trips to Seely Lake and the time spent with her sisters.

 

Their trip last summer to the Washington coast was cherished time spent as the “Bourassa Sisters”. Later in life she began collecting rocks and had a beautiful collection, something she shared with her sister Judee. It was nicely displayed in the living room and she proudly handed down the collection to her children and sisters just before she passed. This act gave her great joy.

Kitty was preceded in death by her father Frenchie and mother Ruby, brother Marty Bourassa and her sister Eve Thompson.

 

Kitty is survived by her loving husband Rob, her daughter Kelly David (Kalispell), son Neil Cole and his wife (Elizabeth, Richland, WA), her sisters Connie Bourassa-Shaw (Dick Shaw, Burien, WA) and Judee Enderson (Lyle, Missoula), step-children Nathan Porch (Florence), Becky Moreland (College Place, WA) and Beth Clarke (Bradenton, FL), two grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren and several nieces.

 

Though Kitty’s battle with cancer was long and difficult, Kitty faced each challenge with grace and strength, enduring much pain, both physical and emotional but always with hope for tomorrow. She now rests without pain.
