Souvenirs

Tammie Lee Newby, age 67, of Missoula Mt, went to be with her Lord on September 12, 2025 after struggling with Alzheimer’s for ten years. She was at her home with Steve, her husband of 44 years, when she passed.

Services for Tammie will be held at the Christian Life Center in Missoula MT on Oct 26, 2025 at 2pm. 3801 S. Russell St.

She was born on October 26th, 1957 in Missoula, a daughter of the late John Sr. and Phyllis Page. She is survived by her husband Steve and her four siblings: John Page Jr., Sharon Page, Elaine Pachman, and James Page.

Tammie worked at the Good Food Store for 36 years in many different positions before she retired. She faithfully attended the Christian Life Center for 22 years.

Tammie had an awesomely beautiful voice. She loved to sing and was blessed to be a part of the Sentinel High School Concert Choir as well as the Christian Life Center choir and the Missoula Symphony Chorale. With Steve’s support she was able to go on two European tours with the Missoula Symphony Chorale, during which she had the great honor of performing at the Musikveirein Wein in Vienna Austria.

She also had a fascination with rocks. When she and Steve went on one of their many hikes in the woods around Missoula, Tammie would stop to look at the pretty rocks along the way. She spent many happy hours, digging for crystals and sapphires, or sifting through pay dirt, in hopes of finding some really good ones. Oftentimes she ended up with a pocket full of pebbles just because she found them pretty.

Tammie's other hobbies included: photography, skiing, hiking, and wildflowers. So, while Tammie and Steve were out walking, hiking or skiing, Tammie always took her camera along to take pictures of the pretty wildflowers and any wildlife they came across.

While working at the Good Food Store, Tammie put her “green thumb” to good use. When she found a drooping or dying plant stashed on a shelf, she would take it home and baby and nourish it back to health and then return it to the Good Food Store and made sure it was kept in good health.

Tammie left a legacy of love and kindness that warmed everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. Her sweet gentle ways left us all feeling respected and cared for. As long as we live, we will miss you, Tammie!

I still carry a bookmark Tammie made for me in my Bible. She was so caring and genuinely kind. She loved Jesus and served Him in her faithful, quiet way. Her life story helped so many find healing. I am grateful to consider her my friend and I miss her.

Tammie -so dear to my heart. Such a kind and gentle women who loved her Lord and adored her husband and laughed so easily. She and I examined and pocketed many rocks on our walks in the park, and if Heaven is anything like we hope, there are rocks everywhere. I miss her sweet smile but know she is happy where she is, singing to the King of Kings.
