Nathan Allan Dear

Nathan Allan Dear, 39, Missoula, left to be with his Lord and Savior, January 11,2025

Nathan was born April 24, 1985, in Williston, ND, to Todd and Madonna Dear. Nine months later his cousin Bryson was born and then his brother Curtis, sister Tiffany and cousin Morgan came along, they were inseparable. Grade school through high school Nathan participated in basketball, football, track, wrestling and in 2004, graduated from Simms High School. 

Nathan married Ashley Halcro and they had 2 children, Noah and Connor. They later divorced.

At the age of 18, for the love he had for his county Nathan enlisted in the Montana Army National guard and served as a Specialist E4 with Bravo Company 1/163rd Infantry Battalion Great Falls where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.   

Nathan was happiest when he was with his family and dog Daisy, in the mountains, rock hounding, gold mining, hunting, fishing and shed hunting.  He would light up a room with his smile and had a way of making a person feel important and special. Always  generous and caring, making sure everyone had what they needed. 

He is survived by his parents, Todd Dear, MaDonna Gartrell (Dale) daughter Kynslie and son’s Noah and Connor. brother Curtis (Jessica), Sister Tiffany (David), Nieces Tori (who shares his birthday) Braeleigh, Fayth. Nephews Eadyn and Bentley Uncle Scott and Aunt Christina, cousins Whitley and Willow, Aunt Coreen and cousins Bryson (Rebecca) and Morgan (Lonnie). Many cousins and great Aunts and Uncles that he loved dearly. And his dog Daisy.

Nathan was preceded in death by his Grandparents Fay Dear, Buck Dear and Roger Olson.

There will be a Celebration of Life, 1pm, Saturday February 8th with Military Honors at 2pm at the Great Falls VFW Post 1087, 4123 10th Ave S, Great Falls, Montana. Nathan’s wishes were that his ashes be spread over Sullivan Valley which the family will do at a later date.
