Courtney "Court" Jay Poulsen
March 31st, 1956 - March 4th, 2022
March 31st, 1956 - March 4th, 2022
Court was born on March 31, 1956 in Billings, Montana to Carl and Edith Poulsen. He joined his oldest sister, Carlene and older sister, Penny. He was known as “Corky” until he grew up and decided he should be called “Court”—a change for his family which his sisters got to tease him about. His family moved back to Hamilton when he was two years old, where he grew up on the family ranch. He loved playing with his little green tractor, his dog by his side. Court graduated from Hamilton High School in 1974. Following high school, he was proud to serve in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Germany for eight years and married the love of his life, Gudrun “Anna” Brundige. Together, they moved to Edwards Air Force Base, where he was honored with numerous Meritorious Service Awards. In 1992, Court was Medically Discharged due to an auto-immune disorder. After he was discharged, they moved to Hamilton with their beloved boxer puppies where they renovated a home, hunted, fished, and spent time with family. Sadly, she preceded him in death. Court loved to travel and visited numerous European countries. He was always willing to spin a tale about his adventures to his friends and family. Court was a gifted chef, vocalist and pianist—and used his talents to bring joy and comfort to those closest to him. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Carl and Edith (Goodridge) Poulsen, his grandparents Pansy (VanAken) and Worthy Clary, his grandparents Jens and Tressie (Hyatt) Poulsen, Anna Poulsen, his brother-in-law John “Bingo” Pritchard. He is survived by his older sisters Carlene Pritchard and Penny Arnold, his niece Heidi Anderson and her husband Herb and their children Bridget and Gavin, his nephew Shawn Kahler and his fiancée Michelle Higgins and his daughter Khloe, as well as by his nephew Brian Kahler and his wife Carmina, and extended family members. . Court will be missed dearly by family and friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to those who helped and came to see and check in on him during his time of need. No services are planned at this time, per his request. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a Humane Society in his honor.
