John Alan Lamb

John passed away on March 30, 2023 at the age of 78 years old in Missoula, Montana with his loving wife, Mardell Pedersen Lamb by his side. John’s surviving friends, Don and Tex Mercer; as well as many friends who preceded him in death were very important to him throughout the years. John was born on February 1, 1945 in Seattle, Washington and moved to Missoula with his family when he was one year old, which became his permanent home for the rest of his life. John loved camping, hunting, and fishing with friends and family from the time he was a young boy. He would often go and stay in the mountains for months at a time, enjoying all of the wildlife and scenery. At the age of 20 he signed up to serve his country for two years in the United States Army. John worked on the railroad for thirty years until his retirement. On January 11, 2022, John got married to Mardell Pedersen who was his life partner until he sadly passed away too soon. He had COPD and congestive heart failure in his last years, that made it difficult for him to continue to do the things that he loved doing. John was looking forward to going fishing this summer with Mardell. He loved his family very much. He was a generous and caring man that put others first. We will miss you Dad, always and forever. John was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; his mother, Alice. He had three sisters that also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mardell Pedersen Lamb; his four children: John, Kathy, Patrick, and Brenda; and his six grandchildren: Trenton, Emma, Megan, Kirsten, Tayven, and Dalaney. John was loved by everyone who met him and he will always be missed.
