Albert George Cannon
21 février 1964 - 13 mai 2026
21 février 1964 - 13 mai 2026
The world became a little darker on May 13, 2026, as Albert Cannon quietly slipped away after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer.
Albert George Cannon was born in Georgetown, South Carolina on February 21, 1964. He came from a very loving family that included his parents, Albert Cannon Sr. (Big Al) and Sharon Cannon and his siblings, Justine, Raymond (Tony), Brad and Jodi. The family split time between South Carolina and Montana.
After high school and a short stint in the Army, Albert became a father to his son Alex Cannon. Albert then met the love of his life, Debra Lynn Martin and they married on February 14, 1992. Their daughter Whitney was born not long after, in 1993. Albert worked hard as truck driver to support his family. They spent a few years in the Andrew/Kingstree SC area before moving to Missoula.
Albert reconnected with many childhood friends and was proud to introduce his family as they settled into Montana life. William (Willie) was born soon after in 1997 and they stayed in Montana for a few years before returning to South Carolina. Their world was shattered when Debra suddenly passed away on December 22, 2008.
Albert returned to Montana with his children, to be near his siblings after the deaths of his wife and parents. He settled into a quiet life to raise his children as best he could and he was incredibly proud of them.
Albert was a soft-spoken, southern gentleman - a gentle giant, if you will, who loved to hang out with his family, his friends and their children. The kids would tease him because he didn’t know how to get mad at them. They loved to get the best of him and he loved it too. He would end up laughing before he ever raised his voice. He had a soft spot for the kids.
Albert lived a simple life and liked to stay close to home. He didn’t have much but he had a lot of love to give. Albert was excited when the grandchildren came. They were the highlight of his life, and he loved being a Papa. He treasured every moment he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.
Albert loved the Miami dolphins and enjoyed watching games with his son and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his Monster Energy drinks and his favorite chocolate chip cookies from Alberson’s.
In 2021, Albert found his 4-legged best buddy – his dog King. King was by Albert’s side every second of every day. King was there for the good and the bad. King was Albert’s best friend.
Albert renewed his faith in Jesus, got sober and was diagnosed with cancer in quick succession in past few years. His world got very small, very quickly. His daily life became consumed with doctor appointments, infusion days and hospitalizations. He spent his down time with his beloved dog and surrounded by his family.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents Albert Sr. & Sharon, his wife Debra, his brother Tony Cannon, his sister Jodi Cannon-Britt and his son Alex Cannon.
Albert is survived by his daughter Whitney Cannon (Casey Casselman), his son William (Essence) Cannon, his grandsons Jacob Woodard, Braxton O’Niel, Landon ‘Remington’ Casselman, Marcus Rushfeldt and Liam Cannon and his granddaughters Allison Bone, Serena Rushfeldt, Saniyah Rushfeldt and Sienna Rushfeldt. Albert is also survived by his Uncle David, Aunt Vera, his sister Justine Daniels Medlin, his brother Brad Daniels and his many nieces and nephews.
Albert was very loved and will be missed immensely. He is finally reunited with his wife and is watching over us all.
