Annah "Mikey" Wilmonen

Annah “Mikey” Wilmonen, 73, of Missoula passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Hospital of natural causes. 

She was born in July 1950 in Missoula, MT to Ernest and Annah Tubbs.  As a young girl, she lived in Drummond and worked at Mickey’s café as a dishwasher.  She went to Medical Assisting school as a single mom in St Paul, Minnesota where she was employed by the St. Paul Fire Marines. 

On August 4, 1979, she married Gary Wilmonen in Drummond, MT.  They later moved to Deer Lodge where she worked at Warm Springs Hospital as an aide on the Men’s floor.  She held many different occupations throughout her lifetime with the most recent one being a data entry clerk for Tamarack Management, Inc. before retiring to raise her grandson.

In 2005, she went with her mother and two sisters on her dream trip to Ireland where she was able to experience the places her ancestors had lived.  This was something she often reflected upon and spoke so fondly of.  Her family and friends were most important to her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Ga Ga) and great-grandmother.  She would go above and beyond to express her love to all of us. 

Survivors include her husband Gary, Missoula; daughter Carla, Missoula; grandson Ryan, California; granddaughters Seana, Aniyah, Elliah, Missoula; and great granddaughter Paisley, Missoula and multiple nieces and nephews.  Mikey was preceded in death by her parents Annah and Ernest Tubbs, son Sean Ragen and multiple brothers and sisters. 

Graveside services will be held at Helmville Cemetery on May 18, 2024 with a memorial to follow at Drummond Community Center.  Time to be announced at a later date.
