Audrey Jean Hudak
11 mars 1936 - 29 avril 2022
11 mars 1936 - 29 avril 2022
Gram Obit The world lost a really good friend on April 29, 2022, in Missoula, Montana. Audrey Jean Hudak passed away surrounded by love and family. Audrey, or "Aud," had a passion for life that inspired everyone she met. She was an environmental educator whose enthusiasm and love of nature inspired her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. But it only began there: her influence spread to the thousands of children she taught with humor and love through the outdoor education programs Timbertots, Tampeel, and Geauga Park. Her teaching won her countless awards, including the State of Ohio's award for outdoor educator of the year for her programs for inner city kids, and Geauga Park's Lifetime Achievement Award. "Regular Gram" as she was also known (ironically because there was nothing regular about Aud) also loved camping, sewing, crafts, volunteering, beavers, butterflies, and learning. There was nothing and no one this woman didn't find fascinating! Audrey was born March 11, 1936 in Harrisburg, PA, and was supported unconditionally through 62 years of marriage by her husband Edward John Hudak. Although he passed in November 2018, Ed's love and support continued to sustain Audrey through her battle with Alzheimers. Audrey goes to join her parents and 3 siblings: Trevor Hart, Andrew Balas, and Angela Balas. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in her three daughters, Teresa (Rick) Lisum of Fallon, NV, Lori Hudak and Kathy (Bob) Hudak of Missoula, MT; her son Edward (Shelley) Hudak: her brother Don (Cathy) Balas of Fort Meyers Beach, FL; and eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Edgewood Memory Care in Missoula, Montana, for helping care for Audrey in her last years. Every day Audrey showed us how to have fun, make friends, laugh, and most importantly take care of one another and our earth. So every time you see a butterfly, think of Aud and the beautiful gift she was to this world.
