Peggy Jane Stewart

Peggy Jane Stewart “Positive Peggy” Born February 8th,1963 in Childress Texas to Harold and Cora Gail Trent. She passed to her Eternal home on May 16th, 2024. She attended Childress High School 1978-1980 and married Thomas E. Stewart on August 10th, 1980.  

She is survived by her Mother Cora Gail, her husband Thomas, her sons Jason, Jake, and Joel. Five grandchildren Liora, Kaeli, Declan, Malcolm and Sofia. Two brothers Joe and Jay, and two sisters Molly and Vinita.   

Although not her biological children one of Peggy’s testaments is her Mothering nature to so many people. Not all can be listed here. To be truthful we don’t know how many people she chose to be a stand-in mother to, not just physically but spiritually as well.   

Her career spanned over 40 years with many occupations. She enjoyed many different jobs. She was an innovative problem solver who loved a good spreadsheet and office supplies. Selflessly following her husband from place to place during his 20-year Naval Career. Her last job was helping her husband run a retail business.  What she enjoyed most was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her true passion and joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren listening to them play and laugh.   

She was a devoted Christian and dedicated to living as a child of God. She lived her life as a Godly woman. She was known for her beautiful Alto voice, and so enjoyed singing with the group on Sunday morning.   

A memorial service will be held for her on May 27th, 2024 at 11:00am in the Cornerstone Community Church building.
