Bonnie Lee Staggs Townsend

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonne Lee Staggs Townsend, who left us on March 30, 2023, on the same day as her sister Bernice and 26 years to the day after the death of her oldest brother Robert. Bonnie was bone on July 31, 1953, to her parents Joseph Wilbur Staggs and Rosemary Stevens Staggs. Bonnie grew up with a passion for travel and adventure, which led her to meet her beloved husband Billy Townsend in Texas. The two were married in Missoula, Montana on October 28, 1968 and their love story took them on many exciting journeys together. Fortunately, Bonnie had found her soul mate whose work allowed them to travel. While Billy was in the military their first son, Billy "Tiny", was born February 20th, 1970 in Germany. Their second son, Kenny, was born on December 16th, 1971 in Missoula, Montana. Throughout her life, Bonnie was known for her adventurous spirit, her love for travel, and her infectious laughter. She always had a smile on her face and a helping hand for someone who needed it. She was a devoted wife, who cherished her family above all else. Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers Bob, Bill, and Barney and her sisters Bette Lou and Bernice. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, Billy. She leaves behind her sons Billy "Tiny" (Kay) and Kenny (Alexa), her brother Ben, her 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her memory will live on in our hearts and minds. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at her brother Ben's home in June. Please call (406)825-7386 for more information.
