Patti Kahler

2 de septiembre de 1950 - 16 de junio de 2026
Patti "Patta" Kahler, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Missoula, Montana, on June 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Patti was born on September 2, 1950, in Kalispell, Montana, to Cal and Virginia Herzogg. She was raised by her beloved grandparents, Clarence and Neva Ufford, whose love and guidance helped shape the woman she would become. Patti grew up enjoying the beauty of northwest Montana, spending countless days at Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park. She attended Flathead High School, where she participated in track and field, enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing, and graduated with the Class of 1968.
Following high school, Patti earned her Associate's Degree from Spokane Community College before making her home in Missoula. On June 21, 1980, she married the love of her life, Marvin Kahler, beginning a partnership that would span nearly 46 years.
Patti was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Together, she and Marvin raised two sons, Tanner and Taran, who were among her greatest joys in life. She dedicated many years of service to the State of Montana, working at the Missoula Youth Court, where she was known for her compassion and commitment to helping others.
Patti had a lifelong love of horses, especially her cherished companions, Cosmo and Ahab. She found happiness in the outdoors, treasured Montana's natural beauty, and loved gathering family and friends together. Affectionately known as "Aunt Patta," she earned that title not only among relatives but among countless friends whose lives she touched. Her home was always open, especially during the holidays, to anyone in need of a place to gather, celebrate, and feel welcomed.
Patti's kindness, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel like family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cal and Virginia Herzogg; her grandparents, Clarence and Neva Ufford; her son, Tanner Kahler, and other loved ones who welcomed her home.
She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Kahler; her son, Taran Kahler; daughter-in-law, Erinn Kahler; her grandsons, Kaeden, Tate, Tanner, and Crew; her sister, Claudia; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stadium Club at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula on August 16th at 1pm. All family members and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Patti's remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who knew Patti to honor her memory by sharing kindness, opening their homes to others, and spending time with those they love—just as she did throughout her life.
