10 de mayo de 1930 - 17 de mayo de 2024
10 de mayo de 1930 - 17 de mayo de 2024
Freda Loretta Hall passed away peacefully at Village Healthcare on May 17 at the age of 94. She was born in Fort Benton, the youngest of the seven daughters of Ferdinand and Emilie Stern who homesteaded in that area. She attended school in Highwood and later in Great Falls. She married Edward D. Hall of Great Falls in 1949. A lifelong Montanan, Freda resided in Missoula since 1965.
She was a highly respected and skilled cosmetologist and later passed those skills to many students at Modern Beauty School in Missoula. Throughout her career, she was an active leader in the Montana Cosmetology Association presenting both locally and nationally. Also a talented seamstress, Freda spent hours sewing clothing and creating innovative crafts. She was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church.
Freda and Ed loved participating in Submarine Veterans of WWII events throughout the U.S. Together they spent many happy weekends in their RV camping and collecting rocks. They later became fixtures at flea markets and craft shows throughout Western Montana.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband and her son David E. Hall (Terri) of Oregon. Survivors include her daughters Michal Malouf of Missoula and Kathleen Milo (Steven) of California. Freda was particularly proud of her four grandchildren: Ben Malouf, Patrick and Spencer Milo, and Chenise Hall. She loved hearing about the accomplishments of her seven great grandchildren. She will be particularly missed by her niece, Jeri Logan, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
A longtime resident of the Clark Fork Riverside apartments in Missoula, Freda cherished many friendships among the resident community.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cremation and Burial Society of the Rockies. A memorial and her interment with her husband at the Western Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery in Missoula will be announced later
