Nancy Jean Whitman

Nancy Jean Whitman, 63, of Missoula, MT, passed away from amyloidosis of the liver in her home on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Born in Schenectady NY, Nancy moved to Wilmington, NC, where she graduated high school and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business from UNCW. She lived in Germany for 8 years while she worked as a civilian for the US Army. After returning to the states, she moved around a little before settling in Florida to be the caregiver for our mother and father. After our father's passing, she relocated to Missoula, Montana, where she lived until her death. She loved living in Germany and would speak of it often. She also loved Montana and enjoyed traveling and visiting different areas of the state. She enjoyed music and loved singing and playing the piano. She sang in many choirs in church and also in college. She also enjoyed hiking and visiting Glacier National Park. Her other big love was her beloved dog Dosha, the light of her life. She was an avid cross stitcher and had recently discovered a new love for essential oils and was starting a new business educating others by sharing her knowledge of oils. She is survived by her siblings Barbara Mueller, Elaine Wood, Peggy Christopherson, Jackie Belton, and Leslie Whitman, her nephews Matthew Whitman, Daniel Belton, and Joshua Belton, and her nieces Alyssa Whitman, Rebekah Strasburger, Amanda Christopherson, Andrea Wood, Elizabeth Mueller, Kathryn Lane, and Melissa Johnson. The family would like to give special thanks to Gloria Benish, Patti Ramler, and Gary and Pam Ritter for their continued love and support of the family and for Nancy during her time at home. A service for Nancy will take place on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Lolo Community Center, address 12345 US-93, Lolo, MT, 59847.
