Richard "Rick" Allen Dent

Richard Allen Dent, 75, of Superior, Montana passed away on Friday, July 12th 2024 peacefully at his home. Rick was born on April 8, 1949, in Eugene, Oregon  to Wesley and Irene Dent. The family moved to Superior, Montana in 1966 and  Rick graduated from Superior High School in 1968.Rick joined the Army in 1969 and shipped out to Vietnam shortly thereafter.  

 After serving his country Rick returned home to Montana where he followed in the steps of his father Wesley and went to work in the woods. He worked as a Sawyer for multiple logging companies over the years. Rick eventually went to work for the Mineral County Sheriff's office and retired from there. Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother Bob and his many nieces and nephews.  Rick enjoyed planting his garden and keeping his lawn taken care of, and later, Rick found a love for baking and sweet treats. He always had a new creation for everyone to try at family gatherings. Rick always had a love and respect for the great outdoors, he would take his trusty companion Corky for daily walks up Flat Creek just to be out in nature.Although Rick didn’t have any biological children of his own he was blessed with nephews and nieces that he loved as if they were his own children. Rick  is survived by his brother, Ron, his nephews and nieces, Eric Dent, Jason Dent, Cory Dent, Rodney Dent, Dana Dent, Jeannie Lynn Skeen, Robin Dent, Kim Gordon, Robbie Savelkoul, Justin Dent, and Rachel Vigue. Rick also had many great nephews and nieces. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; Wesley and Irene Dent, his brothers; Wesley, Gene, Vern, and Bob, and his niece Sara Dent.Condolences can be sent for the family toRon Dent621 Scenic Bluff Drive
