Marlyn "Lyn" R Johns

Marlyn R. Johns August 3rd, 1950 – August 14, 2025

 

Marlyn R. Johns, age 75, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at Missoula Health and Rehab in Missoula, Montana.

Born in Miles City, MT, in 1950, Marlyn’s creativity, humor and deep love for her family was a priority. She earned an associate's degree in computer science and spent much of her career in transportation logistics, in which her sharp mind and practical nature truly shined.

 

Marlyn had a gift for finding joy in simple things. She loved reading, gardening, hunting for treasures while thrifting, and taking road trips. She was known for her quick wit, big laugh, and the kind of energy that made everyone feel welcome. In the 1980s, she managed an Alcoholics Anonymous dry bar establishment for five years, providing a safe and supportive space for many.

 

Above all, Marlyn was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Dallas Johns and Jason Johns, and her beloved grandchildren: Nicholas Johns, Austin Johns and Rebecca Ketchem. Lastly, her great-grandson Reed Ketchem, who she admired dearly. She also leaves behind cherished memories shared with her late parents, Dallas and Eleanor Salisbury.

 

Marlyn's independence, strong spirit, and deep love for her family, especially the time she spent with her grandkids, will be remembered always. Though no services are planned at this time, her loved ones will carry her in their hearts forever.
