Robert Cote

Bob Cote, aged 69, a long-standing resident of Missoula, Montana, concluded his earthly journey on March 2, 2024, in the comfort of his home, after bravely contending with cancer. Born on April 23, 1954, to the late Alexander and Catherine Cote in the very town where he would live out his days, Bob was deeply cherished for his robust love of the outdoors and his enthusiasm for the game of golf.Bob's professional life was rooted in the lumber industry, where he served with distinction as the Stud Mill Superintendent at Stimpson Lumber. Upon the mill's closure, he pursued academia, earning an associate degree. Bob dedicated the remainder of his career to Canyon River Golf Course until his well-earned retirement.A devoted family man, Bob's pride and joy were his son and grandchildren, whose accomplishments were a source of great happiness to him. His adventurous spirit was matched by his love for Montana's great outdoors, where he partook in backpacking, skiing, and snowmobiling. Bob also found pleasure in competitive sports, including darts, bowling, and pool, but it was on the golf course where his passion truly shone.Bob is survived by his son, Chris Cote; his daughter-in-law, Mandy Miessner; his adored grandchildren, Liam Cote and Tinley Cote; his sister, Linda "Cote" Traxinger and her husband, Jerry Traxinger; his brother, Micheal Cote; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edmund Cote, and sister-in-law Joan Cote.The Cote family invites relatives, friends, and acquaintances to a memorial service to be held in Bob's honor at the Canyon River Golf Course on the 23rd of March, 2024, at 1:00 pm.Bob's memory will be held in the highest regard, a testament to his steadfast devotion to his loved ones, his passion for the outdoors, and his enduring love for golf. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace
