Tana Rae Stieg-Mount
17 de enero de 1963 - 21 de enero de 2023
17 de enero de 1963 - 21 de enero de 2023
MISSOULA ~ On January 21, 2023, Tana Rae Stieg-Mount lost her courageous fight against cancer. Tana was born on January 17, 1963, in Miles City, Montana - the youngest of three daughters born to Wallace Richard Lee (Wally) and Violet Marie (Marie) Stieg. Wally and Marie raised their three daughters in Lewistown, Montana until 1972, when the Stieg family moved first to Forsyth, then Circle, Montana. Tana graduated from Circle High School in 1981. She earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science in 1985 and a Bachelor of Science in business administration/accounting in 1988, both from the University of Montana. Tana earned a Master of Business Administration in 2011 and held a Certified Public Accountant license. Tana remained in Missoula, Montana after her graduation from the University of Montana. She most recently was employed by the County of Missoula in its Human Resources Department. She worked there for only a year when her cancer prevented further employment, but, even in that short period of time, she made many friends, who miss her work-ethic, can-do abilities, and sunny disposition. Previously she worked for Western Montana Mental Health, heading up its payroll division. She also was employed as: a financial analyst for HireRight Records Services, Inc. ; the controller for Jim Palmer Trucking; the controller for S. E. A. Trucking; and a senior accountant for Ingold and Company. Tana married Randall Francis Mount on November 13, 1993, and became the mother of Randy’s eight-year-old son, Tyler, her greatest joy. Tana was known for her sense of humor, generosity, extreme kindness, toughness and positivity in the face of extreme adversity, and fierce commitment to doing everything on her own. Her co-workers, friends, and family knew her as smart, competent, hard-working, and always willing to help others. She was beloved for her tender-heart and her fun and easy-going nature; acceptance of the short-comings of others; and her love of life. She was the person in the Stieg family who remembered all the birthdays and anniversaries; helped trouble-shoot anything electronic; and not infrequently served as the peacekeeper between her older sisters. She had an infectious laugh and a positive outlook and loved bright colors and anything sparkly. To the very end, Tana served as a role-model of kindness and grace, continuing to worry about the feelings and well-being of everyone else (including every hospice person who helped her and family members). The world, and especially those whose lives were personally touched by Tana, will be a much inferior place. Tana is survived by her husband Randy Mount; son Tyler and daughter-in-law Jennifer McMount; her mother Marie Stieg; her sister Jolene, and brother-in-law Edward Amestoy and their children Scott, Kevin, Brett, and Jenise; and sister Sherri Stieg and son Nolan. A celebration of Tana’s life will be held in Missoula on February 4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite shelter for women and children subject to domestic violence or favorite charity seeking to address mental health issues.
