I was so looking forward to visiting with Bill at the Lady Griz Hoop Club. Bill was always such an interesting gentleman and a longtime proud supporter of the Lady Griz. He never missed a game. Ethel Byrnes
Herbert Swick
Bill was a wonderful physician in every sense of the word: a committed healer with a curious mind and a true commitment to advancing the profession of medicine. I had the privilege to work with him on the memoirs left by his grandparents, William and Winifred Reynolds, about their time as camp physicians in Aldridge, Montana, just after the turn of the last century. Winifred's stories not only of life in the camp but also of individual patients were colorful and remarkable, and Bill thoroughly enjoyed sharing them. It was a privilege for me to share those stories in a presentation at the Dalhousie School of Medicine in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from which both Bill's grandparents had graduated. Herbert M. Swick, M.D.

We're sorry that we weren't able to attend Bill's service in person, but we enjoyed watching the live feed from the church. Your dad was a very special man and a good friend to so many of us. We shall all miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Love, Kathy and Tom Anderson

Condolences to your entire family as your grieve the loss of precious "Doc", he was such a character and wonderful companion to Don Sr. We are grateful for their years of friendship and a few shenanigans at the racquetball courts at the 4B's offices. Don Sr will miss him dearly. Enjoyed reading this wonderful tribute, just know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you all, Don Jr and Laurie Hege Family

Bill was an enthusiastic medical partner for me when I joined him in the Internal Medicine Department of the Western Montana Clinic, back in 1981. I remember him sharing his enthusiasm for the medical care of diabetics, along with many other clinical and professional insights. His activism and leadership in the American College of Physicians was impressive and inspiring. His good humor was rarely suppressed. He was a remarkable man, and I valued him as a colleague and friend. Tom Roberts, MD (retired).

I regret that I was unable to attend Bill's service, but he was certainly in my thoughts. He was a remarkable man who made a difference. I enjoyed being his suite mate at the Griz games and will miss his presence. Twila Wolfe
