Dearest Betty and family: We are so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He will be missed. He was the best teacher and family friend of ours. As an undergraduate, I thought he was God! We enjoyed so many happy times when we were raising our children together and you provided a shelter from the storm when Autumn was diagnosed with diagetes and Dough showed us how to give shotw! You invited us for suppers featuring Eggo waffles (which Autumn loved!) and we had so many laughs together. I have thought of you so many times - you were such dear friends. I remember a class that Betty and I took together in the final years of our careers; and the two of you visited us in Hamilton after we acquired our big big house! You were still in regular contact with us when Autumn was born, and you outfitted her with a literal box-full of new baby garments! Words cannot express how large a part of our lives you were -- and the marvelous sense of humor Doug had! -- we always rolled on the floor laughing. This is a great loss in our lives, as I know it is yours; and we hope that your children and grandchildren will be a comforr to you in this sad time. We are making a donation in Doug's name to the Bitter Root Humane Society. We love you, Betty, and you and Doug will be in our hearts always. Love, Kea and Joe Yanzick
