Lois Jean Harding Thompson

May 27th, 1938 - May 25th, 2026

May 27th, 1938 - May 25th, 2026

Lois Jean Harding Thompson, 87, of Turah, passed on Memorial Day, May 25th at her home of natural causes, in the presence of her family.

Lois was born to Dallas and Mabel Harding on May 27, 1938, in Missoula, MT. She grew up and attended schools in Missoula, graduating from MCHS in 1956. After school, she worked for Mountain Bell. In September of that year, she married Neal Thompson, and they made their home in Missoula. They had two children, Lorie and Daniel. They later built a home and moved to Turah, where she had room for her flowers and her animals that she loved dearly. Lois was a gifted quilter and made many wonderful quilts that she gave away or donated. Lois looked forward to her weekly Thursday luncheon at Taco Time with her kids and siblings, a tradition of more than thirty years. She was a stay-at-home person, although she was talked into three trips across the US, to New York, Maine, and Tennessee, where she was able to see her favorite country artist, Conway Twitty, in concert.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Neal. She is survived by daughter Lorie Michael, of Turah, her son Daniel, of Missoula; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Merle and Don (Suzi), both of Missoula, and a sister, Joan Connelly of Missoula; and many nieces and nephews.

At her request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. She asks that any donations be directed to the Humane Society, Animeals, or any organization benefiting animals.
