Recuerdos

Donald (Don) Stephen Dvoroznak passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in Missoula, Montana.  He was born in Northampton, Pennsylvania on July 15, 1940 to Sue Barna and Stephen Dvoroznak.  He attended Central Catholic High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  He then joined the Marine Corp where he proudly served from 1957 to 1961.

He met the love of his life Bonnie Hair n Washington DC while he was stationed at the Marine Barracks 8th & I where he proudly guarded the President of the United States.  Don and Bonnie later married on March 21, 1963 in Pennsylvania.  They then welcomed their first born son Tyrone and their family was complete with Keith 4 years later. He was very proud of his family and loved them with his whole heart.

As a family they lived in multiple states finally settling in Thompson Falls, Montana in 1993 where they fell in love with the mountains, river, wildlife and small town feel.

As Don and Bonnie’s health declined they relocated to Dillon, MT to be closer to family.

Throughout Don’s career he worked in law enforcement as a state trooper, detective and chief of police, you can say he was a man of many badges.  He later worked as a special agent with Amtrak Railroad and then settled into his greatest honor of being an archery ambassador with Fred Bear, Nirk Archery, Matthews Archery and Ripcord where he was vice president and worked alongside his son Keith for 17 years.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Sue and Stephen.  He is survived by wife Bonnie, sons Ty (Joana) Dvoroznak & Keith (Trish) Dvoroznak, grandson Cody (Abriana) Dvoroznak and great granddaughter Oakley, granddaughters Taelor (Kolby) Rimer, Mckenzie Huddleston, great grandsons, Luke, Levi, & Liam, brother and sister in laws Jack & Susan Hair as well as numerous friends that he considered family.

Don had a real passion for life & a thrill for making himself the life of the party as well as being an avid bowhunter & outdoorsman.  He enjoyed countless hunts in North America & Africa.  He was one of the original founders & last surviving two of Bowhunters of Wyoming  So many can reflect on Don’s stories told at hunting camp as well as his fortitude for doing whatever he wanted to do in life whether it was good or bad.  He was from a dying breed of men, hard, loyal, patriotic, caring & we were all better for knowing him.

Until we meet again we know you will be stalking the fields and your arrows flying true as you are now on a greater hunt.  This isn’t the end, it is just a break so Don can get camp ready for all of us when we get there.

Cremation has taken place & a summer celebration of life will be held at a later date.
