Souvenirs

Elaine Grace Williamson (Larson) passed peacefully and gracefully at home on Thursday, November 28th, 2024.  She was surrounded by the love of her daughter Brenda, son Dennis, son in law Chuck and granddaughter Lauren.

Elaine was born on September 17th, 1937 in the family farmhouse five miles from Oklee Minnesota to Selma and Alfred Larson.  Elaine was the second born of five children.

Elaine married Allen Williamson in 1960 and moved to Chinook, Montana.  Together they share 4 children, Edward Allen, Dennis Lee, Brenda Kay and Leslie Elaine.  In 1970 Elaine and the kids moved to Geraldine where she was a school teacher for 23 years.  She then moved to Missoula where she last resided to take on her “Nana” duties.

Elaine was a proud and devoted Nana for the last 34 years to Jessica Elaina, Justin Edward, Lauren Maes, and Chance Jameison.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She taught each of them to sew, can and above all else make her famous Lefse.  Nana was especially proud of her six great grandchildren, Emmy, Kayleigh, Jaxon, Noah, Maddison and Collins.

Elaine was a proud Norwegian and loved to teach her grandchildren of their heritage.  Each of them now proudly carrying on her family traditions and Norwegian heritage.

If you knew “Nana” you knew that her life revolved around her grandchildren, The Sons of Norway and her health.  She was a strong woman of Faith.  She loved a long walk outside on a sunny day and teaching her Step Up Classes where she helped the elderly stay fit and healthy.  She spent countless hours baking Lefse and Vikings for the Sons of Norway and of course for her family as it’s a Christmas favorite for all.  She will also be remembered for her amazing quilting abilities.  She loved her visits with her dear friends, Loretta, LouAnna, Connie, and Kristie who have stuck by her side all of these years and for that our family is eternally grateful.

Elaine is preceded in death by her mother Selma, father Alfred, sister Catheryn, sister Ann and brother John.  She is survived by her brother  Edward(Sharon) Larson of Oklee, MN, son Edward(Rhonda) of Fort Benton, MT, son Dennis of Missoula, MT, daughter Brenda(Chuck) Maes of Missoula, MT, Leslie(Fred) Moore of Venice, FL, Granddaughter Jessie(Craig) Halko of Gillette, WY, Justin(Laura) Williamson of Geraldine, MT, Lauren(Zach) Sandau of Missoula, MT, Chance Maes of Missoula, MT, Great Grandchildren; Emmy and Noah Halko, Kayleigh, Jaxon, Maddison Williamson and Collins Sandau.

A celebration of life will be planned for later on in the Spring.

First I was friends with Brenda and one of the fun things to do was the Christmas Tea at CLC; where Elaine would host a table always beautiful and elegant. She had a flair for decorating which she passed down to her lovely daughters. Elaine was always game for an adventure, a drive, a visit to a quilt store, window shopping, swim aerobics or having a sew day together. I appreciated the teacher she was, always happy to share her talents and knowledge. I'm blessed to have had her in my life. Attaching some of my favorite pictures of her.
