30 octobre 1935 - 3 septembre 2025

Rosalie Marie Dopp, age 89, of Alberton, Montana, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025.

Born on October 30, 1935, in Butte, Montana, Rosalie was the daughter of Cleo and Marie Sandlin. After her parents’ divorce, Rosalie’s mother married Keith Holmes, and the family made their home in Malta, Montana. It was there that Rosalie graduated from Malta High School, beginning a lifelong journey centered around family, compassion, and quiet strength.

On July 10, 1959, Rosalie married the love of her life, Gilbert Dopp. Together they made their home in Missoula, where they raised their two children, Arra and Scott. Rosalie was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a gentle soul whose warmth touched everyone who knew her.

A true lover of animals, Rosalie shared her home and heart with many cherished cats and dogs over the years. She found joy in the simple things: reading a good book, preparing home-cooked meals, and most of all, caring for her family.

Rosalie is survived by her daughter Arra Rausch and son-in-law Dale Rausch; her grandchildren Mitch Rausch (Shannon), Jake Rausch (Molly Davis), and Jenna McClure (Dave); and her great-grandchildren Bennett  and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gilbert and her son Scott.

In keeping with Rosalie’s wishes, no memorial service is planned. Those who wish to honor her memory may do so by making a donation to their local humane society — a cause close to her heart.

Rosalie’s quiet kindness and unwavering love will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

We were so sorry to hear about Rosalie’s passing. She was such a big part of our childhood—more than just a neighbor, she was woven into the fabric of our family memories. From babysitting us with that calm, knowing smile to the legendary moment she dropped a casserole when Dad set off his “war bomb simulator” on the Fourth of July, she brought laughter, care, and a sense of home to our lives. Her kindness, her steady presence, and her ability to roll with the chaos of neighborhood kids will never be forgotten. We’re holding you all in our hearts and sending love as you celebrate her incredible life. Debbie Marek Anstensen
