Marcia "Marcy" Lynette Sylvester

Marcia “Marcy” Lynette Sylvester passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at her home in Missoula, MT from natural causes. She was born July 10, 1938, in Red Wing, MN, to Herbert and Blanche (Stockwell) Bengtson. Marcy graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1956. She and James Sylvester were married on September 21, 1957 and moved to Missoula, MT in 1964. They were blessed with the birth of their son, Joel, in 1967. Marcy held various secretarial positions in MN and MT and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Her love of children led to her caring for infants and toddlers in her MT home for 19 years. She felt very fortunate to have made and kept so many wonderful friends during her lifetime. She enjoyed listening to music, reading, sewing and keeping in touch with family and friends. Marcy is survived by her husband, Jim, son, Joel, granddaughter, Vanessa, all of Missoula; brother Jeffrey (Carol) Bengtson of Eagan, MN; sisters-in-law Mickey (Bill) Peterson of Red Wing, MN and Joan (Jim) Woolrage of Simpsonville, SC and many special cousins, nephews, and nieces. Her parents preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (202 Brooks St. , Missoula, MT, 59801). Cremation has taken place. Her ashes have been divided and following the service in Missoula, one urn will placed at Sunset Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 PM (7405 Mullan Rd, Missoula, MT 59808); the other urn will be placed at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, MN.
